Recreation Committee
Minutes- October 22, 2009
Linda Clements called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m.
Present was Ana De Jesus, Cindy Di Pasquale, Ashley Hernandez, Cindy Rametta, Debra Vines, Nancy Timpone, Kerry Doucette, Joe Rametta, Margaret Cooney, Linda Clements and Ellen Cooney.
Minutes- The minutes of the October 8, 2009 meeting were reviewed and approved.
October Events- The Halloween Party will be canceled due to lack of participation. Trunk or Treat will be held as scheduled.
Bingo- Special bingo will be phased out by the end of the year due to cost and negitive impact on kitchen sales.
Subcommittee proposal- Cindy Rametta submitted a proposal to establish subcommities for each event. The proposal was discussed and accepted. Subcommitties are as follows:
Planning/Coordination- Margaret Cooney, Linda Clements, Cindy Rametta
Kitchen- Cindy Di Pasquale, Joe Rametta, Debra Vines
Shopping- Norma Riss, Kerry Doucette
Decoration/Setup- Ana De Jesus, Cindy Rametta, Nancy Timpone
Event Financial Coordinator- Ellen Cooney
Each subcommittee will be responsible for completing their tasks in a timely manner and informing the Chair of their progress.
DJ's- There was general discussion regarding DJ's used for association events. It was noted that DJ Eubie acted as a master of ceremony at events and was more successful in encouraging attendee participation. Ashley Hernandez stated DJ Eubie was more flexible in regard to event cancelation deadlines. For these reasons it was the consensus of the committee to utilize DJ Eubie when possible.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
