Recreation Committee
Minutes- November 5th, 2009
Linda Clements called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m.
Present was Linda Clements, Cindy Rametta, Debra Vines, Kerry Doucette and Norma Riss, liaison.
Minutes- The minutes of the October 22, 2009 meeting were reviewed and approved.
Tree Lighting- The date and time of the Tree Lighting was set for December 6, 2009 at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, primarily from current inventory. Maintenance staff will decorate the tree near the E clubhouse.
Family Holiday Party- The date of the Family Holiday Party was set for December 19, 2009 from 2-5 p.m. Food for the event will be served primarily from current inventory,. The committee will also inquire if Joe Rametta would make pizza for the event. Dave and Cathy Armani have agreed to be Santa and Mrs. Claus. Norma Riss will locate the Santa and Mrs. Claus suits for cleaning. Photos with Santa will be available during the event. Kerry Doucette will shop for goodie bags items for the children.
Holiday Decorations- An inventory of decorations on hand will be conducted by the maintenance department. The committee will then determine any additional decorations to be purchased. Decoration of the E clubhouse to be completed before December 5, 2009. Norma Riss stated maintenance staff have located and are repainting exisiting wood cutout outdoor decorations. Cindy Rametta stated she has patterns for fabricating additional wood cut outs.
Bingo- It was the consensus of the committee 2009 weekly bingo would end the Friday before Thanksgiving. Bingo will resume once a month in January, February and March of 2010. Activities staff will run the kitchen during bingo for the remander of the year.
Exisiting food inventory will be utilized.
New Year's Eve Party- Norma Riss will follow up on the status of a DJ contract for the event. Details for this event will be finalized at the November 19, 2009 meeting.
Food Handlers License- Norma Riss stated the association is required to have someone hold a food handlers license. It was noted Cindy Di Pasquale has a food handlers license.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:18 p.m.
